Joomla! 1.5 FAQ:Where is the Static Content Item?

Joomla! logo small Before Joomla! 1.5, the so called Mambo-Joomla connection version, there were two separate process of creating a content item.

Remember the two Types of Content Items for the “Mambo-Joomla connection version? They were known as Static Content Item usually used for About Us and the “Duh” Content Item which is associated with Sections and Categories …

Hands-on! exercise:

  1. Create a Static Content Item? (About us | Mission Vision | Permanent Information
  2. Create “Duh!” Content Item? (Ever changing contents, company updates)

With Joomla 1.5, the two entities have been combined. No more Static and no more “Duh” Content Item.

But wait! according to the default article included in my Joomla! 1.5 installation,

“both content types are still around they are renamed as Articles for Content Items and Uncategorized Articles for Static Content Items.”

so, how can I create a Static Content Item in Joomla 1.5!?

“if you want to create a static item, create a new Article and select Uncategorized as the option in the Section and Category drop down lists.”

Hi Travis! Thank you for dropping by. Creating a menu and link it to either Section or Category or to the articles is one method to hyper link to one of the pages (articles).

How to remove that annoying next and prev links from the bottom of static content (uncategorized content)?

  7. Same question as “garfy”, how do you remove next and prev links. If these are uncatagorized articles, they should not link to any others…right?
