It started when I found the incoming link at the WordPress Dashboard without the message that says,
This dashboard widget queries Google Blog Search so that when another blog links to your site it will show up here. It has found no incoming links… yet. It’s okay — there is no rush.
Out of curiosity, I clicked the incoming link and diligently followed the “standard” procedure on evaluating web site/blog content.
Actually, you will immediately know if a blog is a fly by night blog or spam blog because the contents are similar to the spam emails. Spam blogs are also similar to the spam comments filtered by our friend Akismet .
Automattic Kismet (Akismet for short) is a collaborative effort to make comment and trackback spam a non-issue and restore innocence to blogging, so you never have to worry about spam again. http://www.akismet.com
Within five minutes, the incoming link passed the preliminary scrutiny, so I continued reading the blog of the day entitled, “Once”.
Goal: To find the ah-ha/magical/mystical moments that should produce a blog entry.
Guideline: If in 60 seconds, inspiration is nowhere to be found, and within five minutes with no sign of keyboard movement/no sound of mouse clicking, then get out of that predicament easy and fast. Log off and move on!
Noted – your time is important. Don’t waste your time thinking on what to blog. Blogging is fun and natural. It should not be a burden because when blogging you don’t have to think about anything. Thoughts should keep pouring like manna from heaven while fingers are flying 40 – 60 words per minute (exaggerated) to enter texts.
Lesson to remember: Being inspired means, easy blogging experience. So I did blog without a problem. https://nyjoomla.wordpress.com/2008/12/15/an-incoming-link/
As I browsed around the incoming link, the right side corner got my attention; an inspiration, the “Ah-HA! moment – the concept of SOCIAL MEDIA unfolded.
Social Media here we go! http://karlkapp.blogspot.com/2008/12/adopting-social-media-in-your.html
Goal: Adapting social media in my – friends/colleagues/relatives/social network
What is social media?
- According to wikipedia:
Social media are primarily Internet- and mobile-based tools for sharing and discussing information among human beings. The term most often refers to activities that integrate technology, telecommunications and social interaction, and the construction of words, pictures, videos and audio. This interaction, and the manner in which information is presented, depends on the varied perspectives and “building” of shared meaning among communities, as people share their stories and experiences. Businesses also refer to social media as user-generated content (UGC) or consumer-generated media (CGM).
