The Spirit of Social Networking

(The Case of Finding “Each Other”)

…where ideas, vibes, instincts, interests, interconnect, transcend…to each and everyone to form something, effortless.

It started with this article, that reminds me of the words such as fight against the “evil doers!” then led to the image below.

Somewhat gave me an idea to write an open letter — the draft
Dear Spammers,
What am I gonna do to you and to your spams? Of course the right answer should be…just delete all the spams. End of the letter.

Note: At that time Akismet, the WordPress spam blocker had already caught 104 spams since this site was up (May 2007).

104 Spams I got.
Most spams I had as we are all familiar with were selling from instant millionaire scheme, to investing stolen golds from Iraq scheme, to a miracle drugs that make small gets big, bigger, biggest – to enormous, huge, vast and strong, stronger, strongest with the power of staying alive for long- to stamina enhancers.

I liked to add more at my draft but ideas were not there. The letter remained a Draft for weeks. Sometimes I clicked edit- to edit the draft but I just stared with the same words.

Looking For Inspiration:
I decided to take a break and scoured over the network until I stumbled upon ianInHamburg’s blog: A Spammer Dying For My Business -another WordPress blogger, who by googling found ultimoadios through the link of website. (How cool is that!)

The selection was at random – not premeditation, just the sense of curiosity and the practice of social networking.

Entry Completed:
I completed this entry by just looking back what I had started and put them all together. It is really fun to see the result especially the interconnection on how blogs found one another. As the popular adage says, “The Spirit of Social Networking.” — not stalking!

Thank you!

  1. Stalking – a very overused word these days. I like the weird ways I have met people online. One guy in my own city I met because instead of sending an email to myself at home – I was looking at his blog from work – I sent it to him! I wrote: cool blog – write him a note!

  2. ultimoAdios says:

ian – nice to see you here.
cyber stalking? Overused and a little wacky.
